Energize for the Prize is an opportunity for schools and school organizations (PTOs, booster clubs, environmental clubs, etc) to raise money by promoting energy efficiency upgrades to homeowners in Alameda County. It is designed to reward schools and school organizations that encourage homeowners to take advantage of substantial rebates and incentives while making energy efficiency upgrades to their homes through a program called Energy Upgrade California.
Every time a household signs up for a home energy upgrade, the school organization of its choice earns $100. There is no limit on the number of households that can participate or the amount they can raise. The school organization that signs up the most households by April 2012 earns an additional $5,000. Second and third place participants earn an additional $3,000 and $2,000, respectively.
