Garbage, Recycling and Organics Collection Rates 2011 - 2012
Weekly collection of garbage, yard waste and recyclable materials is mandatory in Union City. Allied Waste Services and Tri-CED Community Recycling are the city's exclusive franchised haulers. The City Council approved the following residential and commercial rates wich took effct 7/1/11.
Most Union City households pay for basic curbside garbage and recycling services through assessments that appear on a homeowner's property tax statement. Basic service is the weekly collection of a 35-gallon garbage cart, a 64-gallon recycling cart and a 96-gallon organics cart.
Basic Residential Rates for Curbside Collection Services (monthly)
Households may request a smaller 20 gallon garbage cart. Mini can services are collected at the single can rate and discounts are rebated to customers by Allied Waste Services. To request a smaller cart, call Allied Waste at 657-3500.
Households requesting a larger size garbage cart are billed directly by Allied Waste Services for the extra service. The rates below are in addition to the charges for basic service that appear on property tax statement.
