  Summary: The data table and chart below provide historical comparisons with other cities in Alameda County as it pertains to property tax revenues and property tax revenues per capita.  Union City is near the middle third of the list when it comes to property tax revenues and property tax revenues per capita in FY 2006-07.  However, as other tables show, Union City is near the bottom of the list when it comes to total taxes collected.  This means that Union City has less tax dollars to work with per capita than most other cities in Alameda County.

  1) In FY 2006-07, Only $17,018,100 in Property Tax revenues went into the City's General Fund which can be used for General Operating
  Purposes.  $28,091,473 went into other funds such as RDA which have specific legal purposes that are usually capital improvement 
  related.  In FY 2005-06, $15,199,527 went into the General Fund and $19,048,092 went into other funds.
