  Summary:  The data table and chart below provide historical comparisons with other cities in Alameda County and display unemployment rates for those who reside within each city.  Union City unemployment rate over the past 6 years is on the high end when  compared to other cities.  Like most cities, Union City saw its unemployment rate decline from 2002 - 2006, but rise significantly in 2007.  The rise in unemployment is a direct result of a weakened local, state, and national economy.
