Section 7.12.010 of the City of Union City Municipal Code allows for the abatement, removal and disposal, as public nuisances, of abandoned, wrecked, dismantled or inoperative vehicles or vehicle parts from private property. The City of Union City allows nuisance vehicles to be stored in a fully enclosed garage, where it is not readily visible from the street or other public or private property.
Vehicles removed under these provisions are destroyed or parted out by a dismantler and cannot be made operational again. Written notices and the opportunity to have a hearing are provided prior to taking any such action.
Complaints may be filed with the Neighborhood Preservation program in person, by mail, telephone, or e-mail.
When making a report, please provide the following information:
- The specific address or location where the vehicle is located
- Description, make and color if known
