Ben Reyes was appointed City Attorney of Union City on July 27, 2010. He is a 1987 graduate of University of California, Berkeley, and received his J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1992.
Ben is a Principal with Meyers Nave and counsels public agencies in the areas of energy, construction and procurement and governance law. He regularly teaches seminars on the Ralph M. Brown Act (local agency open meeting law), ethics, conflict of interest and political reform rules. |

Mike Riback is the Assistant City Attorney of Union City. He is a 1968 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and received his J.D. degree from Loyola University School of Law in 1971. He has practiced public entity law since 1972.
The former president of the Bay Area City Attorneys' Association, Mr. Riback has served on committees of the League of California Cities and the National Institute of Municipal Law Officers. He has also conducted workshops for city councilmembers, county supervisors, commissioners, board members, city clerks, managers and other staff on the Ralph M. Brown Act and conflict of interest issues throughout the state. |
