Measure B
Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Program
Back to Alameda CTC Funded Projects
Union City uses Measure B funds to accomplish a variety of Bicycle and Pedestrian related projects.
Union City continues its goal of making bicycling and walking integral modes of transportation, as indicated by the development of the Intermodal Station District near the existing Union City BART station, which is designed to be a pedestrian oriented development.
In addition, in FY 10/11, supported by Measure B funds, the City installed or upgraded another 163 wheelchair ramps at various locations throughout the city, bringing to over 98%, the percentage of intersections that are fitted with wheelchair ramps, excluding the two developments in the hilly areas east of Mission Blvd. In the previous two fiscal years, 102 such ramps were installed using these funds.
The City also completed some high priority Bike & Pedestrian projects identified in the Master Plan as well as other related projects including citywide trail system rehabilitation, etc.
