| Garbage, Recycling and Organics Collection Rates 2009 - 2010 |
| Weekly collection of garbage, yard waste and recycling materials is mandatory in Union City. Allied Waste Services and Tri-CED Community Recycling are the city's exclusive franchised haulers. The following residential and commercial rates effective July 1, 2009 have been approved by the City Council. |

| Most Union City households (89%) pay for basic curbside garbage and recycling services through assessments that appear on a homeowner's property tax statement. Basic service is the weekly collection of a 35-gallon garbage cart, a 64-gallon recycling cart and a 96-gallon yard waste cart. |
