Paratransit Service

Union City Paratransit 476-1500

Union City Paratransit is a service of Union City Transit and the City of Union City. Union City Paratransit provides services required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Services are partially funded by the Measure B sales tax of Alameda County.

Union City Paratransit offers ADA service within the city limits of Union City.  Union City Paratransit also offers an additional service know as Paratransit Plus.  Paratransit Plus offers limited service to southern Hayward, and northern Fremont and Newark.  For a map of this expanded service area, click on Paratransit Plus.

Riders must be certified as eligible to use Union City Paratransit. A special application must be completed. To request an application, call 675-5373 or click on ADA Paratransit Application. The Extra Mile is a newsletter that provides tips and suggestions on how to schedule paratransit trips for medical appointments. It's a great resource and you can read it by clicking on The Extra Mile. The newsletter is a joint effort of the paratransit programs of Fremont, Newark and Union City.

Hours of Operation	Fare: $2.50 One Way
Monday - Friday 4:35 am to 10:25 pm Saturday 6:40 am to 7:30 pm Sunday 8:05 am to 6:30 pm	Ten-ride ticket sheets cost $25.00 and are available for purchase at City Hall, by Mail and at the Safeway located at the corner of Alvarado-Niles Rd and Decoto Rd
Schedule a Ride	Holidays - No Service
Rides can be scheduled up to 3 days in advance. To make reservations, please call the above number daily between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.	New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day

For rides outside of Union City, riders will use East Bay Paratransit. Riders who are certified on Union City Paratransit are eligible to use East Bay Paratransit and all other ADA paratransit system in the San Francisco Bay Area. The reservation number for East Bay Paratransit is 800.555.8085. East Bay Paratransit is operated by AC Transit and BART.

Union City Paratransit is an ADA complementary service to Union City Transit. It is not a specialized medical transportation service and does not provide emergency service. In the event of an emergency, call 911.
